Guitars:
1982 Robin RG50
This is a strat copy manufactured in Japan by Tokai. The feature I really enjoy on this guitar is the reverse headstock. It feels more natural when tuning on the fly, rather than a standard strat-type headstock where you twist your hand over the top in an awkward, uncomfortable position. My customizations include switching the nut to a graphite replacement and adding a rolling string retainer—both of which were meant to help keep it in tune when using the tremolo, although that was never really a problem. I also added some shielding to the electronics to reduce hum.

2003 Moll Archtop
 |
I could write volumes on how this unique guitar with five epsiloid sound holes came into being. It is a one-of-a-kind custom built gem made by Bill Moll, an accomplished luthier who lives and works in Springfield, Missouri. The building of this instrument was completed just in time for the Great Midwest Guitar Show in St. Louis, September 2003, where I picked it up. It is featured prominently on Bill's website. |
