June 3, 2009 One of my passions these days is working outside in my yard — landscaping, gardening, the like. This centers me and gives me a genuine warm feeling of accomplishment. Ten years ago I purchased a very modest little Cape Cod style house in need of repair. Here are some recent photos of the property. It's not very glamorous, but I'm proud of it, nonetheless.
April 18, 2009 Today, I challenged myself to write a motivational column for beginning guitarists. The idea was to submit the column to Guitar Nine Records for inclusion in their newsletter. Then, of course, it occurred to me that I might spend half the day writing only to get rejected. I couldn't handle that possibility so I put the column into a blog associated with this site. If I'm paying attention, there is virtually no chance that I will reject myself. Here it is: petemarinovich.blogspot.com
April 15, 2009 After several years of neglect on my part, I have recently updated my page on GuitarNine.com. Founder Dan McAvinchey has done an amazing job keeping that site alive and thriving with great guitar music. It is definitely worth a visit if you love instrumental guitar music as I do. I plan to release my latest instrumental CD, Closet Songs, on that site in about a month from now.
April 13, 2009 I've just added a store widget to this site where you can purchase downloads of almost any of my songs—even some that cannot be found on any existing CD. Look for the AudioLife store down in the right column. There are mp3 downloads and ringtones as well as my latest CD Closet Songs. The CD is compiled of 160 bps mp3 files. You might just use the store to sample songs and then purchase the full-quality audio CD from my Kunaki page. Closet Songs will soon be appearing on most online music distribution sites including everyone's favorite independent site, CDBaby.com.
January 28, 2009 I can't believe it's been so long since I last updated this website! Back in July '08 I was excited about the coming release of a CD from Marinovich Michael and Watts. However, the project became derailed when bassist Ian Michael left for bigger and better things. I have since updated the myspace page to reflect this change, though I still hope to release the songs we recorded further down the road. Most recently, I joined a group called Red Line Soul, replacing their keyboardist who departed for Los Angeles. The group features a stellar vocalist in Krystal Klingenberg and covers some classic material of yore. Here is a link to the band website which, as I type this, needs some updating. But we'll get everything up to shape. Stay tuned!
